The results of my blood test were negative, and as I sat with AM in the cafe this morning, my period started. It began with some heavy duty cramping of a magnitude I wasn't familiar with.

I told a friend about the intense PMS and she said that all this change in my life (she doesn't know about AM) has stirred up my chi, which has lain dormant for so long that like a rusty faucet, it's going to screech a little as it's put into use again.

I told AM that I wasn't pregnant, and he nodded knowingly saying, "the blood doesn't lie." He had a late lunch with a friend who offered him expensive wine and confessed to him that he was having an affair. Though he wasn't married, this made it much more convenient, after a little prodding, for AM to confess his relationship with me. At long last he was able to release this secret. This friend offered him the key to his apartment, which was within walking distance from work, should we need a little privacy. AM should have confessed a long time ago.
