Artistically, I'm lost. I feel the need to rejuvinate what little will I have by looking at other people's work.

I went to the Art Institute last Tuesday to see the Unbuilt Chicago exhibit and then went to stare at the beautiful Balthus's.

Today I ended up at the MCA. I could kick myself for missing the Kerry James Marshall show, but Lee Bontecou's body of work surprised me. I had never heard of her before and did not like the eye balls that were slapped on every advertisement about the retrospective.

So when I entered the exhibit, the deeper I went into the room, the more dramatic the work became. I liked her delicate drawings on black paper and think I'll try that surface myself.
