2004-04-17 - 5:41 p.m. eating in limbo My dentist says my gums are receding, an unavoidable sign of aging. If my teeth are going to fall out eventually, I might as well eat as much as I can now. I proposed the argument to TT and MF, both guys younger than me, that food was better than sex. They disagreed. JM's b-day was last week and a few of us celebrated at Thyme. The sensation it left me with was something comparable to very, VERY good sex. It was the best meal I've ever had. On the ride home, I brought up my argument again. This party, all of whom are older than me, agreed after thoughtful debating. Food has quite the variety of flavors, smells and looks, and the best part....3 or more meals a day. I've spent so much money on food lately. It's the last and only thing I can focus on until the wait is over. It provides for me a temporary sensation of happiness as I slowly deteriorate, the longer the days draw on. I bumped into KH after work yesterday and told him that I was still interested in sky diving. I learned, to my disappointment, that it wasn't the kind where u take lessons and jump yourself. It's the kind where the professional is attached to your back. This considerably lowers the chance of an accident.
