After an early morning workout last week, I was standing under a spray of hot water in the communal shower room when I set my mind to making and selling holiday cards for the first time in 3 years. And this started a profusion of other artistic goals.

My desire to work in Scotland has somehow morphed into getting enrolled at the Edinburgh College of Art as a postgraduate.

This will change my lifestyle completely, but I have always harbored a restless, unsatisfied feeling and tamed or ignored it. To give in to a safety net, knowing u could and want to do more, is a mistake. I have only one life, and as I near 30, I have even less time to alter anything major before it becomes too scary to leave my creature comforts, no matter how mediocre it can be.
